There is a right way and a wrong way to use this bike stand. (See photo) The bike's clamp arm is designed so that the mounting arm matches the clamp arm on the stand itself. Do not attempt to use the clamping lever at right angles to the cocking handle. I got it wrong at first and my arm couldn't support the weight of my RadRover e-bike which weighs about 70lbs. The clamp arm can be rotated to almost any position you want, but you get the most support when the lever is in line with the large locking knob. When I reconfigured the lever to match the tension knob, the stand easily supported the weight of the bike. I was very impressed with the ability of this bike stand to support the weight of the bike. The tripod design offers really good stability when the bike is high in the air and it never felt like it was tipping over.
