Review on Grand General 55230 16 Gauge Primary by Doug Booth

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I am his wire but NOT 16 AWG!

16 AWG copper wire. probably 18.8. Can be useful for light, low voltage loads. However, it does not meet UL standards for driving 16 AWG lamps. I'll leave the wire for other uses, but if you're looking for an accurate representation of the product, this isn't it. I suspect the manufacturer measures the outer insulation and not the inner copper across the entire diameter. Take a sample with you when you buy it or read the reviews. Not recommended for what it is.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Some trouble
