I bought these hooks to ensure there was always a key as well as my personal set of keys next to our double locked exterior door. Since there are eight of these hooks in the set, I have a hook for each of my sets of keys, as well as a few spares for use in the study. for the size, which is nice. The hooks will be removed from the base and you will need to screw the hook into the base. Because the hanging area isn't immediately visible, they look pretty and are big enough for simple things like hanging as a keychain on a fridge or magnet board. I only have 2 issues with these magnetic hooks, which I believe are quality control issues: 1) They're supposed to be stainless steel, but some of the other bases seem a little...stained. All have a slight uneven tan cast in some places. This leads me to believe that they will eventually rust. 2) The threaded portion of one of the eight bases is too big for ALL the hooks. In fact, I can slide all the hooks in and out of the base without being able to screw them into the base. The only way to use this buggy base is to glue a hook to it.
