. Bottom line, this is a good addition to the X-Plane accessories. Unlike previous purchases, you can now download the required plug-in and installation has become easier. Installing between two displays (your monitor and the GNS 530 acting as a second display) can be tricky. But having real physical knobs to adjust the navigation is MUCH better than using a mouse to try and rotate the knobs on the monitor. That alone justifies the $399 cost. I had several hardware issues before I got the right one. The first had a display defect that was properly diagnosed through an email exchange with a RealSimGear support engineer. They responded promptly to my need for support. The GNS 530 was returned via Revain with no problems and I received another one. That second HDMI cable port on the bottom wasn't fully open so the HDMI cable couldn't fit in. Careful intervention fixed the problem, but that too was a manufacturing defect. In any case, everything has been fixed and once you have dealt with such problems, you will be glad that you have this accessory. I would recommend that if you have an X-Plane you cannot do without this device.
