A great addition to the cockpit of any flight simulator.

This is an increase in realism to my already realistic simulator. The ability to turn real knobs and push discrete ones adds to the immersive experience. I use Garmin gear on my current aircraft and have also installed and piloted a GNS-530 on several aircraft. Only the key illumination is missing, but I can live with that for the price. I bought a desktop stand and installed it on the RAM mount to position the device in a convenient location. Excellent knowledge transfer for learning at home.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Empty

Realistic and inexpensive

The only reason I can't give this 5 stars is that I can fix the white bar at the top of the display with all the methods and procedures at my disposal. could not remove tried. I'm using a 27" Imac 5K monitor that works very well with X-Plane 11 for a more realistic experience of turning knobs and pressing buttons that actually work. This is much better than using the mouse on the panel to do the same. I highly recommend purchasing a work stand to place this firmly on your desk. Although the…

Product support is terrible, setup is a pain.

Real SIM Gear gns530 is tedious to get it working properly. I've contacted Real SIM Gear support twice and I'm still having trouble getting it to work. The device itself looks great. However, there are issues with setup and product support is via email. They obviously care little if their product is user-friendly and don't care much about helping if there's a problem with their guide. They sent me a link to a video of the same video that I watched on YouTube a few times and other people watched

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Works as advertised

I am very satisfied with this product as I (Mac user) have been using it for several days. It's just great learning this piece of gear from top to bottom. This will really help you sort things out when flying IFR. Installation on a Mac is easy if you carefully follow the installation instructions on the company's website, particularly regarding where to put certain files. However, I wish they would completely separate the Mac instructions from the PC instructions. I encountered an error and…

Not impossible to install

I bought this product and spent days installing it with FSX Steam and even then it didn't work! The installation in the above comment is described as "impossible!". Very right. They'll be running around trying to download something here and there. Then you have to negotiate the installation of all other programs. The installation includes editing the configuration, XML and individual aircraft files. To make matters worse, you will find that the product works with one or two of your planes. I'm…

Good systems but confusing website and disappointing email support

I've been using Realsimgear products for about a year and for the most part they work as advertised. However, the website does not specify which plugins to use, e.g. B. 530 430. Are they the same plugins for both? On previous versions, I mostly had trouble deleting letters from the 430's keys. After several email support calls I was able to get a free replacement which was still frustrating due to unanswered messages. The website is still confusing how to set up the panels but with some trial…

If you use the X-Plane simulator software, you should buy this

. Bottom line, this is a good addition to the X-Plane accessories. Unlike previous purchases, you can now download the required plug-in and installation has become easier. Installing between two displays (your monitor and the GNS 530 acting as a second display) can be tricky. But having real physical knobs to adjust the navigation is MUCH better than using a mouse to try and rotate the knobs on the monitor. That alone justifies the $399 cost. I had several hardware issues before I got the right

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubt
