Review on Controller DC10 55V Forward Brake Reverse Adjustable Potentiometer by Ahmed Rowe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cheap junk on motor speed controllers

I was very proud of how my trolling motor controller turned out. I tried it on the bench and everything was fine, forward and reverse, and the cruise control worked well. I took my new boat to try out on the lake and as soon as I turned on the controller the motor spun forward relatively slowly. The potentiometer didn't slow it down or turn it off, and the toggle switch didn't do anything. I heard a pop and turned it off. When I got home I smelled burning and saw where two solder traces on the back of the board had burn marks. I'll look for the best PWM, this one is rubbish and I've never used it.

Pros
  • Industrial electrics
Cons
  • Expensive
