The locks are compact enough to be unobtrusive on doors. They were easy to install. I used an impact wrench so there was no need to pre-drill the holes. I also used my own longer screws, although I think the screws provided would have been sufficient. I have one of the locks set too tight so I have to nudge the door a bit to lock and unlock it. The cutouts on the top and bottom of the lock are a very useful design feature. Without the dimples, I imagine it would take more effort to grab and pull to unlock them. Unlocking smoothly takes some practice. Locks work exactly for their intended purpose and are inexpensive in quality and design. However, as with other door reinforcements, I think this is mostly a psychological phenomenon as it takes minimal effort to simply smash a window to gain entry into a home. I recommend these locks.
