Finding a small diameter motor that was proven to move air with an impeller was a challenge. Many early Ferrari fan motors are only slightly larger. Rather than rewinding the original Spahl fan motor, I simply modified it to fit INSIDE the original motor housing. Rewinding the original motor can cost as much as $500. The price, value and performance of this engine outweighs it when used as an economical and powerful piece of equipment. I made sure to implement ventilation as well, using airflow and a copper mesh heatsink for support.
