Potential $100 repair practically free

So my husband was too rough on my doorknob and broke it. The outside handle still worked, so for a week when I got out of the car I would roll down the window, open the door from the outside and have to close the window again. Annoying to say the least. I was afraid it would be repaired thinking it would cost at least $100 which I didn't have if I was lucky. So I decided to at least find out for myself. Well, I'm not a car person at all, but I can be very handy with the right YouTube videos. So I started looking for my problem. I found something similar to my car. The door handle broke on the inside (picture above). It didn't seem too complicated, so I went in search of this part. I found this part much cheaper than other places. So I decided to give it a try. The part arrived the next day (thanks to Revain) and the package included a map that directed me to the company's YouTube channel. So I looked it up and it was just what I needed. In another video someone messed everything up. This video was accurate and to the point. It took about an hour total, mainly because I had trouble finding all the tools. I'm handy, but not very organized. Can't comment on durability as I've only just installed it, but I was so happy to have a working pen again that I had to write a review. Now I will look at her other parts.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
