Perfect fit for Honda J35A7 engine

I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L with a J35A7 engine. Before installing, I inspected these gaskets and seals. and they seem to be of good quality. No visible shape problems, bumps or burrs. Fits perfectly. Installed with no problems. All components of the kit are used, including pin bushings. It's only been a few weeks since installation but no leaks so far. The spark plug tube seals are not as flexible as the Honda equivalent. So I had some concerns about how tight they would fit the pipe and prevent leaks. The time will show. Maybe the extra rigidity will increase the lifespan. Note. There is more than one v6 model for the Ody and Felpro makes a kit for both so make sure you get the right kit for your engine. I see so many people complaining about the gasket not fitting and giving a bad review when it's clear they actually picked the wrong version of the kit for their engine. Make sure your van fits, or use your VIN to make sure the part fits. The only difference in the part number is the "1" at the end. The EX-L has the i-VTEC J35A7 engine which has the booster side of the rear valve cover but not the front cover. Thus, the front and rear pads have different lengths and shapes. If you find yourself topping up your engine oil regularly due to a slow leak, that's a good place to start your search, especially if you have 100-200k miles like my van. I had a small leak on the front valve cover gasket. Also, my old spark plug tube seals were rock hard and no longer effective, so oil got into a couple of the spark plug tube wells and caused problems with your spark plugs, coil packs and performance. If you're having this problem, you should plan on cleaning those indentations and replacing spark plugs and (possibly) coils as part of this job. The performance payout was very noticeable. I was able to clean and salvage one of my coils but had to replace another. This is also a good opportunity to check the EGR connections.

Pros
  • SUPERIOR SEAL SEAL - Adheres well to imperfect sealing surfaces
Cons
  • Hard to tell
