Review on 🚚 HD 1080P Wireless Backup Camera with 5" Monitor for Truck Pickup Car Minivans Small RV - DoHonest V25 by Aaron Ward

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation - excellent night vision - many installation options.

When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was how many "things" were in the box. They include just about every wire, connector, and assembly method you'll ever need. First, the 5-inch monitor can be attached to the windshield with an adjustable suction cup mount. I read some reviews that mentioned that the suction cup doesn't stick to the glass. You need to wipe the glass with a lint-free cloth (a coffee filter will do). A regular paper towel leaves lint on the window. Add a drop of dishwashing liquid to the suction cup (distribute over the entire surface). This will fill in the microscopic gaps that allow the suction cup to easily detach. Also included is a small stand with double-sided tape that attaches to the top of the dashboard. Third, this is a double sided tape to attach to any flat vertical surface in a car. You also have several options for connecting power to the screen and camera. The screen can be powered by an adapter that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket (12 volts). The plug has an on/off switch that lights up when switched on. Really cool. Depending on whether the camera should be active all the time or only when switching backwards, it determines how the camera is powered. Connecting to a white light in the rear light module will activate the camera only when that light (reverse light) is active. The display screen turns off when the camera is not powered. Connecting to a working lightbulb will only activate the camera when the parking lights (and/or headlights) are on. You can also connect to any source wire that is always 12V when the machine is running. Multiple connectors are included that simply clip onto one of these power cords without cutting or soldering. The camera is secured by removing the top license plate screws, passing through the camera mount and reinstalling the screws. I slipped the camera cable behind the license plate light and found a slot to send down the trunk of the car (had to lift the plastic panel to get there). In the trunk, connect the camera cable and power cable to a small module that transmits a signal to the screen. The camera has many customizable options to customize it to your liking. You can turn off fallback policies if you don't need them. In addition, you can change the width, size and position of the lines as needed. If you use the camera as a front or side camera, there are settings for that too that can be tweaked. If you don't have the camera mounted in the center of the vehicle, there is a fine tune option to deal with that. It can slightly move the screen left/right to balance. All of these parameters are changed by simply pressing a small button built into the cables. Suppose you want to change the width of the guides. This is the fourth option. Just press the button 4 times quickly and wait a second. Now each click of the button changes the width of the line. When you're done, just wait about 3 seconds and your selection will be saved. All this is described in detail in the instructions. The camera has very good night vision capabilities. In low light, the image appears grayscale, but is extremely sharp and easy to see. The video resolution isn't the highest, but it doesn't have to be for a reversing camera either. Overall I am very happy with this camera system and had absolutely no problems installing it. The operating instructions are a bit short, but contain all the necessary basic information. Youtube has help videos specific to this camera model as well as videos that provide assistance with installing dashcam systems in general. I recommend checking out a few before installing.
