I needed this kit to knit a new pattern I recently bought. Admittedly, I mostly buy metal hooks as I find them to have a better weight ratio and feel more comfortable in my hand. I also felt that the metal hooks had failed. Two years ago I bought a set of the lowest quality metal hooks I have ever seen. They seemed hollow, thin, and most had sharp points. The sharp ends, in turn, stick to the yarn and tend to break the threads; They even ruffle the yarn from time to time. This was one of the most disappointing purchases I've ever made. Now I understand why these sets can be sold so cheaply. When I received this in the mail, I was skeptical at best. But when I opened the package and grabbed the hook, I was amazed at how strong it felt. I ran my hand up and down the instrument. It was smooth as butter. I smiled knowing I had found my new best friend.
