Review on πŸ” Weewooday 10-Piece AM312 Mini Human Sensor Module: IR Pyroelectric Infrared PIR Motion Detector, 2.7V-12V DC, -20Β°C to 60Β°C by Dave Russell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My new favorite motion sensor I think is

. 9 out of 10 works very well. The 10th is different but works. Most of them have a duty cycle of at least about 1 second (measured from 950ms to 1.2s), the number 10 is about 2.5 seconds. Sensitivity appears to be good on all axes. The plane along the board could be a bit more sensitive, but not significantly when tested closely. The lock time is about 2 seconds (except for #10 which is about 5 seconds). During detection the open circuit output rises to around 3V. Note that this output can't take much load at all, even a 10kΞ© resistor to ground will drop the output voltage to almost 2V. I plan to use a 2N7000 MOSFET for the buffering the signal. An NPN transistor with a 10K base resistor will also work, but not quite ideally. I haven't tested power consumption or false alarms yet. Overall I'm pretty happy, except I wish the 10th was as consistent as the rest.

Pros
  • . High marks for support and durability from testers.
Cons
  • . Not as thick as other options.
