Construction as in the days when things were repaired instead of throwing them away and buying new ones. It has a cast iron base and heavy gauge steel tubing. . Almost all parts are available, although you may have to order them from Europe to get them. The only plastic parts I see are the nut at the top of the tube and the gauge cap. Overall it has a lot less plastic and feels a lot more durable than my Topeak JB Sport II. The footrest pads are rubber. The only complaint I have is the pressure gauge. The main part of the gauge is white stripes on black, which is normal. The smaller letters are PSI, which are displayed in gray on a black background and are difficult to see.
