Not Plug and Play for XV Crosstrek 2014 with stock Head Unit FM622US

First off let me say that overall this is a good head unit but it is NOT straight plug and play. Android tablet with decent specs so apps run fast, screen looks good and transitions are smooth. Anything I can think of that I would like to drive in my car, I can do. - Android Auto works both wired and wireless, I haven't been able to test Carplay yet as I don't have an Apple device. You finally installed it. The included free navigation software works great and will definitely come in handy if you ever don't get a cellular signal. wait for a new download. It's more like turning on your phone's screen than turning your phone back on after turning it off completely. - The rear view camera works immediately, even if the device is not yet fully charged. - If you use "Chat Us" on their website, they respond very quickly. Just remember that they are located in China, so you can contact them in the middle of the night. Bad: - If the device is too warm, the screen will flicker until the unit cools down. Eventually I'm going to put a PC fan in the dash so it runs when the stereo turns on. This goes away once the car cools down and only occurs when you turn on the stereo After the car sat in the sun 4 clips were too wide and needed to be shaved off, it took me quite a while to find out this was why I couldn't get it to get all the way in as they were on a line seem to be in line and it wasn't until I noticed damage to the dash clip holders that I pulled out the caliper and measured.I'm familiar with 12 volt wiring and after hours of research I was able to figure out which wires from the factory wiring harness should be connected to which wires from the supplied stereo wiring harness. You can see my attached photos for reference, but basically I made 4 jumper cables (you can connect them if you want, I prefer not to mess around with the standard wiring). Using the wires I connected the aftermarket camera harness black ground to factory harness pin 15, the camera black ground to pin 16, the yellow signal wire to pin 8, and the red power wire to pin 7. I hope so. helps someone.
