I used to replace an annoying gas cap problem on my 1997 Toyota 4Runner. Installation required no tools other than a small screwdriver to pry out the old part. You don't even have to remove the fuel filler flap. Installation: First lower the hook end and insert the tab end into the slots. I have found that the easiest way is not to open the door all the way, but to open it 1/3. closed so you can reach the tabs without straining the plastic. I bought two just in case. The first lasted 20 years so I may never use the second. It's best to leave it in the car, just in case.
