I used this product to coat my dog's wooden steps. I was hesitant to buy other tracks available because they have a rubber bottom and despite their claims that they don't slip, I put off buying it for a very long time as I didn't want to drive nails into my treads to secure my tracks. . . But I really needed to do something, so I went back and read the comments from their buyers. Almost all were positive, but one was not; In fact, it was said that these steps are very dangerous, they didn't hold onto the stairs and someone fell heavily. Then I found this brand on Revain. The material on the underside of the tread was said to be a new adhesive product and would not allow the tread to slip. So far the steps seem to be sticking very firmly to my varnished (and shiny) wooden staircase. They also have nice carpeting (I bought brown). My dog likes them a lot (no more hesitation going up or down stairs for example) and I like the extra security for myself and others. In addition, these protectors are very cheap for their quality.
