Don't believe the ads from reviewers who get free trial units from Garmin and use them for 2 weeks before writing their review. This clock doesn't work. Pros: - The golf app is awesome. I can't think of anything that could be done better. - The hardware is mostly excellent. The screen is easy to read in daylight and the physical buttons are ideal for sports. - The battery lasts about a week if you use it daily. - Running and cycling tracking works great. Cons: - Garmin frequently updates software with broken code - Weather app just says "Waiting for data". It's quicker to pull out your phone than to constantly troubleshoot your watch. - Alarm clocks don't work anymore since the latest update. I'm not joking. - Sleep tracking has stopped working since the latest update. - As of this writing, all Garmin connections are broken. - The Garmin Express software stopped working last month. - Using 2 number keys to scroll the map is a joke. - Using 2 number keys to enter PIN code 0-9 before Garmin Pay is a joke. It's MUCH faster to just pull out a credit card. - The proprietary charger is terrible and the contacts on the previous fenix I had wore out in a year. - The battery is not replaceable. It's a $600 paperweight if something goes wrong - Garmin support replies after a couple of days and then replies with useless 1-sentence replies. - The tracking of the strength training does not work. heartbeat everywhere. The retry count is inaccurate. Elevator ID is consistently wrong. Not much can be done here due to the limited input options on the watch. I suspect the software on this watch is horribly broken because Garmin has about 47 different models that they have to write updates for. Unlike Apple Watch, Fitbit or Wear devices, you don't get new feature updates whenever a new fenix model is released. That means you're paying $650 for a beautiful watch that doesn't work, is useless, and will be obsolete in a year. UPDATE: Garmin Connect has been unavailable for over 4 days. They didn't bother to explain why to anyone, but word got out that they had been hacked. They still haven't mentioned whether the hackers who hacked into Garmin's network could have accessed passwords, personal information, etc. I wouldn't trust this company with any data I don't want attackers to have access to. Man. What a garbage company Garmin.
