I am 6'1" and 260 lbs. I ordered size 2XL which was one size smaller. big belly If I were 30 pounds lighter these would fit well. And so I will return for 3XL which should fit. The problem isn't the size of the jacket, it's my size. However, the jacket closes without problems, but there is no free space, so it is definitely small north of the navel. The woman looked, shaking her head, "too small." I did not try on the pants, only the jacket because I'm most likely to have problems adjusting there. I like to wear shirts a bit baggy, 2XL fits more often but not always. For example I ordered a 3XL Carrrhart jacket which was cavernous. made for Sasquatch! Some reviews mention that the fabric is relatively light - that's true. It's the middle of winter here, with daytime temperatures in the mid-100s to mid-100s. If I were a runner, maybe ok if it wasn't too windy. Workouts at the gym should be spot on. Based on the reviews, I bought this outfit to wear around the house and to go to the garage occasionally. They appear to be of average quality, suitable for my use; not old school heavy duty 100% cotton like in the days when quality came first. Before credit cards and mass marketing, everything was at a higher level, including groceries. Today, expediency, the shortest and cheapest route from A to B, is the norm. With this equipment I can keep the thermostat at a constant temperature 2-3 degrees lower to save on gas and electricity. Even if I sit at the computer for several hours, I feel more comfortable with my feet and legs closed. I wear thick socks, no shoes, around the house and in bed at night, so this outfit is like warm pajamas around the house during the day. I am 81 years old and every pensioner will confirm that older people are more likely to get cold and wrapped up in winter. Buying clothes online is bullshit. I think some clothes are made cheaply to compensate for the fact that a large percentage of clothes are returned because they don't fit and are cheaply made. Kind of a retail catch 22! I'm sure most would agree that it would be great if there was some sort of international standard for dress sizes, just like shoes. Despite this, shoe sizes still vary greatly. Strict adherence to standard sizes just makes sense and saves manufacturers and retailers a lot of time and effort. Me too, as I don't like sending things back. I think the size of this outfit is suitable for an average to slightly tall person, but it's too small for me.
