Works. I have a 2014, 14kW, model GT990. Note: The GT990 is not indicated anywhere other than in the owner's manual, neither on the alternator housing identification number nor on the engine nameplate. The hardest part of the installation was working on the rear/far side of the engine as this model will not have the rear panel of the housing lifted up and/or it will not be easy to remove to access the starter motor. I used a 5x7" mirror to locate the bolt heads. There are only 2 attaching this starter to the body and they are 1/2" tall. It was the same with the nut on the bendix that held the electrical connectors, but on the new one it was 9/16 for the union nut. When you open the box you might think "this won't work" because the armature diameter is larger than the OEM and the ejector wheel is smaller than the OEM. Check out some of the others Reviews if you want all the technical details. Some people measured everything before installing and I just tried based on their feedback. The engine revs much faster and starts much better than the OEM, which by the way is due to durability and others Blogs should be mostly crap. The OEM's bendix went bad and had trouble activating the ejector. This only happened after I got less than 300 starts based on weekly runs/exercises had appreciated. It took me 45 minutes to swap out this replacement starter just because it's on the back of the engine and it's a bit difficult to find the correct screw heads. It's not hard to see that it ended up being just $75 after taxes. Hopefully the durability will be a lot better than the OEM version but time will tell. It wasn't a Prime item but it did indeed arrive quickly - ordered September 1st and arrived September 7th, shipped from Texas to Ohio. In the photos I've attached, the OEM is the one with a slight gold tint on the left and a black anchor body; the new one has a silver tint. Much luck! Edit: I've included a photo of the nameplate on the OEM starter I removed in case it helps you decide if this replacement starter will work in your application. Numbers on the GENERAC nameplate: P10455515 and 0E9323.
