Review on Coated Green Welding Filter Shade by John Castle

I honestly don't know what's so special about them. They are sharp BUT every welding lens I buy from Philips Safety has this huge annoying long vertical flare on the arc. I've tried using it with different hoods to always get the signature Philips Safety shine. In addition, the glass filter plate itself looks very cheap. It looks like they split it with a chisel and hammer and the edges of the glass aren't polished and it just has a very brittle, fragile vibe, like sneezing into a hood would shatter it. I have a very old ORIGINAL color 10 Athermal with the Athermal symbol, rounded corners, heat polished edges before Philips Safety bought it back and no gold on the outside and it's 5x better than this. Much cleaner and better color. I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't $5.
