My mid-2011 iMac 27-inch hard drive decided to screw it up (see OWC's 2011 report on iMac's built-in digital sensor, which I also wrote). I decided to replace the original 1TB internal hard drive. with 120 GB Solid State Drive and 3 TB hard drive. After some internet searching I found that this cable was probably what I needed. If you buy it, use the ifixit and OWC tutorials. Take your time and it should work. My hard drive installation took about 1 hour 30 minutes from start to finish and I was able to get my computer running again after the hard drive crashed. My only complaint is that I didn't receive any glue despite Amazon's description was a problem because I strong double sided tape at home but just wanted to let you know.
