This was a brand new item as opposed to the local auto parts store where the item has obviously been refurbished, cleaned and painted (there is a reason they have a BASIC circuit board and they want that you have the OLD part (the back). It was a great direct fit OEM part, it also came with a data sheet from QA showing the date of manufacture and testing and the amps built to a specific load. It sold me, the dealer wouldn't even give it to you. Installation went smoothly and solved my intermittent low idle battery light issue. It doesn't have a built in voltage regulator, it's just a charger so do your homework before wasting time and money making sure it's not your voltage regulator or a loose connection.
