Review on Brooks Saddles Bicycle Saddle Chrome by Justin Abreu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

In general, an excellent and beautiful saddle

I have to say this is my first Brooks saddle. It was a stock sale and arrived in 'Used - Like New' condition. Aside from the original packaging being slightly wrinkled (but intact), I have to say this item looked and felt like it was brand new. It's really nice with brown leather and copper rivets. In terms of comfort, the leather is really stiff and tough in its brand new condition, almost like it's on a bare plastic case. Regardless, I have to say that the overall shape is really comfortable and once the saddle is in the right position, you just slide into the saddle. I have to say the rails on this saddle are quite short and if you are planning to buy one be aware that you will need a seatpost with a large eyelet. Ideally you'll want a micro-adjustable seat post as well, as unlike other saddles, proper positioning is just getting the saddle parallel to the ground, it's more of finding the right position where you don't slide forward or backward. In my case, this meant tilting the nose slightly up. This work and finding the optimal angle really makes a difference in the overall comfort you can achieve. In terms of driving, I put in a few hundred miles and it started to sag a bit and became more docile. I absolutely love this saddle and would recommend it to anyone who admires cycling's heritage, doesn't mind the extra weight and is looking for something different than today's saddles.
