Review on Acer KA272U Biipx: Next-Level Zero Frame Technology for Crisp 2560x1440, 75Hz, Wide Screen, IPS HD Display by Aaron Coon

Revainrating 2 out of 5

No wonder the cheapest 27 inch monitor Freesync 1440. Poor picture, problems waking up from sleep mode.

Cons: Won't wake up from sleep mode when connected via DisplayPort. Regardless of the settings or the quality of the cable. You need to reset the connection because the power button is not responding. In a multi-monitor setup, while it has less severe wake-up problems when connected via HDMI, it wakes up more slowly than other monitors, so when the system polls the screens it doesn't see it and remaps all the windows on it other monitors. Therefore, you need to bring back the windows every time he wakes up from sleep. Small I guess but problem enough I wouldn't have bought it had I known about it. The picture quality is pretty bad. This becomes clear with a dual-monitor setup. White is not white, the picture is not clear. Pretty ugly. Block stands compare to most monitor stands worse than you would expect. Bad management. The buttons on the back are a pain compared to the fairly standard bottom center joystick. They're a nuisance, especially in a multi-monitor configuration. Pros: Relatively inexpensive (but still not worth it) Freesync still works over HDMI (because the monitor doesn't work well with DisplayPort) This will probably be the last Acer product I buy. Definitely the last monitor they have. I bought it on sale so it was the cheapest 27" 1440p monitor with Freesync available at the time. But what you actually get is a very poor quality monitor with the addition of Freesync, which drives up the price. About the same. I once bought a different brand monitor, 27", 1440p, but without freesync, for half the price. And it blows it out of the water in every way. If you can't afford a better brand with freesync, I would suggest either going for the 24" freesync or going for a different brand 27" 1440p without freesync.Avoid the remorse of the buyer who this monitor is.
