Review on Case Thermaltake Core V21 (CA-1D5-00S-1WN) by Stanisaw Pirkowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good purchase.

Firstly: The body is large. I put it on the table (it doesn’t fit on the shelf under the table, because it’s 1.5 the width of a typical tower) and it became a bit cramped. So I highly recommend taking measurements seven times before deciding to buy it. And also take into account the fact that this is a "cube" - not everyone will like it. Secondly: Everything that I described above - for the "default" location of the motherboard - horizontal. Since in cross section the body is a square, and all the walls (top, bottom, side) are removed and interchanged - everyone decides for himself where he will have a "top" and where a "bottom" Well, conclusions: I've been using the case for almost three months now. Satisfied). The size scared me at first, but I got used to it. The horizontal layout of the motherboard was still unusual, but now I can’t imagine how it could be otherwise - all components (except for the HDD and PSU) are available after removing the top cover

Pros
  • 1) Lots of space inside. You can not really think about the size of the video card and CPU cooler. Drafts, again, have a place to walk 2) Front pre-installed 20cm fan 3) Panel with buttons (Power, Reset), indicators (Power, HDD), audio jacks and USB ports can be placed on the left, top or right - to choose from 4) The front, top and right walls are fully perforated to improve air circulation. On the bottom wall there is a perforation for the PSU and closer to the front of the case (this implies the installation of two 12cm fans) 5) There are dust filters: in front under the perforation (the filter itself is non-removable, but you can remove the front panel), on the top and on the right - removable filters with magnets, under the PSU - a small removable filter with latches 6) In the left wall, almost in full size - a window 7) Under mat. board is a basket of 3 HDD. 3.5" HDDs are mounted without screws. You can install 2.5-inch drives, but they will have to be screwed 8) On the right side there are three "slots" for the SSD. All of them are removable. SSDs are installed without screws 9) Complete set: instructions, bolts, cogs, couplers, washers and two pairs of straps for installing case fans (each pair of straps can be hung 2x12cm or 2x14cm)
Cons
  • 1) PSU mount is weird. On the one hand, it (BP) is bolted to the rear wall, and on the other, it is, as it were, supported by a corner. I have this corner in its place and did not get up. After several attempts, I threw out the corner, because. The PSU practically lies on the bottom wall, and it is securely screwed to the back wall - it will not go anywhere :) 2) Anti-dust filters are not everywhere where they should be. There is a rather large perforated area for fans on the bottom wall, but there is no filter there, although there is a filter for the PSU nearby - strange. As far as I know, fans are blown from below - it is doubly strange that there is no filter. On the rear wall, above the I/O panel, there is a place to install one 12cm or 14cm fan - also without a filter. Although here it usually works for blowing, so the filter may not be needed 3) The paint on the PCI-E plugs doesn't stick very well. Once screwed-unscrewed the plug and the paint peeled off under the bolt 4) SSD "slots" are problematic to install in their place if you first insert disks into them 5) The pre-installed 20cm fan is noisy (tried to turn it off: + 3-4 degrees on the processor)
