I've been missing them in the store for years because they don't look good. I bought a pack of LYS a year ago and quickly lost everything but the red one. But for a conversion it was enough for me. They are incredibly easy to "tuck in" due to the long slit down the center and the ends are pointed enough to make braiding your ends that much easier. The downside, besides the obvious fact that your yarn will fail quite often, is that it breaks easily. However, the lack of irritation compared to the metal thread needles I've used more than makes up for this.
