Review on Master Lock Stainless Adjustable 2847DAT by Darrell Kiley

The lock works well for locking the hitch when towing and as a light anti-theft device, but other reviewers have found it easy to pick. This isn't my complaint with this lock as it should be obvious at a glance that a pair of bolt cutters or a pry bar will break it. I'm disappointed with the performance of the "waterproof" lid, mainly because it's not waterproof. I found water under the hood after driving in the rain and after the trailer just sat there during a thunderstorm. It doesn't let dirt through, but enough water got in to jam the tumblers, making key insertion/removal difficult. Spraying with WD40 solved this problem, however, I am annoyed that water gets under the "waterproof" cap. Now the Midwest winter trailer is out in the open and I'm wondering if the castle will be open in the spring.
