Master Lock Stainless Adjustable 2847DAT Review

Good for securing the hitch lock when my caravan is hitched to the tractor. I never use it to secure my caravan alone. This would not be the best solution for securing a trailer alone due to the thickness of the lock itself. Happy with my purchase.

I don't like writing negative reviews but I have to say I was disappointed with this lock. I took my trailer to a large hardware store today and after parking I found that the locking part had come loose from the pin, and not because I hadn't locked it properly, just a part had come loose. As the saying goes, find a better lock and the pendant won't be stolen.

I've had it for a little over a year and although it looks like a secure lock, do yourself a favor and pull it with your hand. What you will find is that this item can be bent like a coat hanger and if you twist it back and forth a few times it will break completely. No tools required, you can break it with your bare hands.

Well I thought I had a good product as it was the Master Lock but I should have paid more attention to the reviews saying it stopped working. Fits my car trailer very well. Not very important, but it has more to do with the small hole the lock goes in than the lock itself. I can completely block the narrowest edge, so it's a bit harder to hack. Ultimately, as others have commented, this will only make honest people honest and will slow down someone who intends to steal your trailer by a minute or so, as they'll probably just have to cut off the blue plastic covering part and push it that way. Unlocking has never been easy since you bought this product. Not from the first day of use. The key doesn't get into the keyhole easily, once you put it in, it's like a magic point between too far and too far, even if you open it, the lock won't slip off easily. The main benefit of the product for me was the ability to recode all locks to the same key. I wanted to use these on my RV for security while still maintaining the convenience of a single key.
