The kit is extremely easy to install. I found a YouTube video that helped, as well as the instructions that come in the box. The slam itself was nice as my back door doesn't slam if I drop it. However, my main complaint is that it's a bit slow. Not sure if my tailgate was heavier (new aluminum style F150) or maybe it's the shock absorber itself. I can help by clicking down if I'm accessing it quickly, so I'm not overly concerned, but it might be a deal breaker for you.
