Very low tensile strength of the shock absorber. After installation and testing, the tailgate opened as if nothing was in the way. Also, this product did not have Mylar protective sheets as stated in the instructions. The grease container for lubricating was also almost empty and therefore unusable for me. Spend another $5 and get some quality.

Sorry for the previous review, my son showed up, knew what he was doing. Husband wanted, put the original. And without direction from Beneges, the clamps were not removed from the ends. Little did I know the new ends they sent me had clips inside and they weren't very easy to remove before attaching to the truck. And then they go back! Instructions always help!

Bought for a neighbor. He has a 2020 F-150 long bed. He loves how easy the Silverado's tailgate opens and wanted to do the same. The only downside is that the tool they give you to remove and tighten the cable screw exposes it a bit. But once the shock absorber is installed, the tailgate opens very smoothly. It takes about 5 seconds to fully open, but that's not that big of a problem for him. If you have a set of outlets, installation is easy. It's almost as good as my Chevy.

The kit is extremely easy to install. I found a YouTube video that helped, as well as the instructions that come in the box. The slam itself was nice as my back door doesn't slam if I drop it. However, my main complaint is that it's a bit slow. Not sure if my tailgate was heavier (new aluminum style F150) or maybe it's the shock absorber itself. I can help by clicking down if I'm accessing it quickly, so I'm not overly concerned, but it might be a deal breaker for you.

This product does exactly what it says it does. This slows the rate at which my tailgate lowers and kills that awkward "pop". I've had it on my F-150 for a while now and haven't noticed any change in performance since installing it. To be honest, I cheated a bit during the installation.
