Mixed feelings.

TLDR at the end. I've had these stencils for a few months now. I have many stencils that I use in my journal. I probably have all of the journaling stencils that can be found here on Amazon and this is definitely a factor in the rating I give these stencils. What I liked about stencils is that they have a lot of symbols that are regularly used in the same template, so you have that template handy and provide most of what you need to document appointments, reminders, etc. I love the wide variety of borders and embellishments as well as the finished words. Sure, I have alphabet stencils, but there's something wrong with dropping the stencil once and having the whole word right there without moving the stencil between each letter. I have used the word "water" many times. I also liked that the stencil set has a recycle symbol and an Amazon symbol. It makes keeping track of my Amazon subscription and saves the day more exciting than writing words and it saves valuable real estate. So why only three stars? As much as I like the icons, some of them are so small that they become indistinguishable when used. I went to the sales lady to ask her advice and she said she had no problems. She then also explained that she believes the stencils are a starting point, and she expects that once the stencil is removed, she'll need to add additional detail to make things more distinguishable. It's just a different experience than other stencils I've had and it's not what I need. I use stencils because I want it to be faster than painting and because I have a condition that makes my hands shake, making it incredibly difficult to add detail. If you don't mind going back and adding definition after taking the stencil, you might like this set. I also found the quality of the stencils to be lacking, especially compared to another set sold by this company. I had many places where the templates weren't completely cut through and I had to finish the job with my utility knife. I also found many spots where the edges were rough and my pen could get caught because the letter sections in the month stencils are so narrow that my smallest 25 gauge pen had trouble getting through. I've given up using stencils with the names of the months in the set. I eventually found that the templates were too big to fit in the pocket of my CD case and bullet magazine. I cut the stencil into a set that has all the icon symbols used on a daily basis to fit. I first trimmed the excess for characters, at this point it would fit in a magazine pocket but it was tight so I went back and cut the bottom rows of squares, circles etc as I found them to be too big. for my taste. The square is set up to take the full set of 5mm dots, which is just more than I prefer. Here's the TLDR: - Lots of variety, some unique characters not found in other sets. Screen cut quality issues and some design elements different from my preference.
