A good connection requires great care and patience.

It was difficult for me to make good connections. There is no break point. So if continuity tests fail (power or ground only - no way to test the data line since there is an LED/controller in the loop), the only way to test a problem is to unplug the connector (very tricky, very stressful for an LED strip). I recommend reading other reviews and comments on removing the backing (completely) before using. I have ordered another supplier and will try it on my next project. I can even choose a different LED strip style that doesn't require this type of connection.
