I have read reviews of several products that have been sold for the Jeep antenna and flag mount. Most products have had a variety of issues, from having to buy bolts and stacks of washers, bending a flimsy bracket to make room, or sliding it between a steel tailgate and a plastic spare tire bracket is a bad way to go. This product is way better. When I opened the box I was immediately struck by the weight and the 3/16" thick steel construction. The textured black paint was perfect. The holes are welded onto the standoffs to avoid purchasing additional washers. The mount is easy to use install,fits perfectly and includes two bolts with flat washers and lock washers.Everything looks and feels like professional quality design and manufacture.I use it to hold a two meter sand dune flag and the bracket doesn't bend.None Problems with spare tire or wiper arm clearance You can easily fit two flags or two long antenna mounts in two holes I added a TUSK brand hand mount to accommodate a 1/4" flag whip. The flag is easy to install and remove by simply opening the tailgate and turning the TUSK union nut by hand Please b Note that if you are using a painted bracket to mount a CB or other radio antenna, you MUST scrape off the thick black paint. around the mounting hole as well as the holes where the two screws go into the tailgate. The antenna requires a ground plane formed by the tailgate sheet metal. Otherwise the antenna will not work properly with your radio transmitter.
