you can do that! that can help!

Installed at a friend's Daily Driver 99 F150 ex-cab 5.4L about 2 months ago and still works great. The best part is that it's 1/4 the price at your local parts store. You can replace it by removing the fuel tank, cutting a precision hole in the frame above the fuel pump, or removing the frame. I strongly recommend removing the bed. I have swapped out other fuel pumps on other pickups using these alternative methods and as long as you have 3 strong bodies this method is by far the easiest. You will need a T50 Torx bit, a fuel line loosening tool, a set of metric sockets, screwdrivers and 3 solid objects. Simply remove the 6 screws in the truck bed (need a Torx T50 bit), 3 small screws around the fuel filler neck (7mm allen wrench), loosen the clamp on the filler neck hose that holds the filler hose. Access from inside fender arch), 1 Disconnect harness connector from driver's side rear near bumper, turn turn signal 1/4 and pull out from bumper, unscrew rear vent hose that goes from rear to end at foot end of bed. Remove tailgate (additional weight). Find at least two strong men to help lift the bed and take it off the frame. Blow dirt and debris off the top of the pump and disconnect the fuel lines from the pump (you will need a fuel line disconnect tool to do this). Unscrew the pump, carefully lift the new one and install it in the same way. Collect everything back. The whole job took us amateurs less than an hour.
