This leash was a bit of a disappointment when I first opened the packaging and inspected it. For starters it was thinner than my previous leash, and the hardware was built thinner as well. Then there was the reflective stitching that is only on one side. I went back and looked at the online images and there are a few that show the plain side of the strap, but you better be looking carefully or you’ll miss that. Lastly, the neoprene in the handle is on the thin side, so it doesn’t feel very padded. However, those are minor issues to me. What they got right is the stitching. It looks very strong, and it’s nicely folded and smooth. In my experience stitching is the most likely point of failure. Also, the way I hold the handle my thumb rests on the stitches, so smooth stitching is important to prevent chafing. My Golden is in the 80 pound range, and the leash is plenty strong for him. He is past the puppy stage, so he doesn’t chew on the leash any more. If that’s an issue for you, you might want to look for a leash with a thicker strap. Otherwise, I recommend this one.
