Review on Rexing Degree Supercapacitor G Sensor Recording by Devon Leach

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I think it has everything (except the suction cup!)

This is my fourth Rexing camera. I had V1, V1 (3rd gen), V2 and finally this one. A bit of history: Before I bought this one I had a V1 (3rd generation) in the front and a V1 in the rear. two cameras. , two graphics cards, two power supplies. The benefit of this is that I was able to maximize the video resolution on both cameras. The downsides are that I had to have two total and the rear camera was a bit larger than I would have liked. I tried the V2 with front and rear cameras on the same head unit, but I didn't like the rear camera as it really only recorded the inside of the car and didn't work at all in the dark. So here comes the V1P Pro. V1P Pro simplifies my setup. most of time. It took me about 20 minutes to route the wiring and route the wires under the various door panels for a neat look. I had a suction cup mount for another camera that no longer works with the V1P Pro. Shit, I can't use it, but the sticky pad does. Adhesive pad on another car. Doesn't bother me, but annoying. The audio recording is very good. Video is capped at 1080p at 30fps when the front and rear cameras are activated. Not bad, but the resolution is a bit lower than with two separate cameras. A nice addition is the GPS registration. Make sure you download the correct GPS software onto your computer from the Rexing website. As with the V1 (3rd generation) and V2, this one has Wi-Fi capability and the software interface (TimaCam) is nice. Camera menu, although not all settings are available for customization. Overall I'm very happy with this setup. The simplified setup and GPS capabilities make up for the loss in resolution compared to my previous dual camera setup, so I think I'll stick with it!
