This little block looks like plastic but is as strong as it should be. Works right out of the box 1 shows battery status after plugged in 2 then shows how good the battery is in terms of braking performance (how good the battery is at giving you power when you start the car) just how long you can the sound you hear when you press the start button or turn the key to fire the engine3 indicates how well your alternator is charging the battery. Use this if you are having trouble starting your car or motorcycle and don't know why. It tells you if you need a new battery or if you need to take your car or bike to a mechanic. Ps If it tells you your battery is bad, try a good charger (I have Optimate 6), it will really charge it. to tell you to change it and get a new one
