Review on ☕ Bonavita 5-Cup Stainless Steel Thermal Carafe Coffee Brewer with One-Touch Function by Mike Donathan

The ultimate brewer when you don't feel like hand brewing.

I've been using this coffee maker for about a month. I'm tired of hand brewing Chemex in the morning. It took too long. I wanted something I could set up, press a button before I get in the shower and head out. Since I like to grind beans right before brewing, I didn't see the need for a fully automatic timed version. I just didn't want to grind grain the night before. So far this coffee maker is great. What annoys me the most is the decanter. As others have pointed out, it's designed to make it almost impossible to pour out that last bit of coffee without turning the carafe upside down. That means it's not as much coffee and it's a small compromise for convenience. However, Bonavita needs to find a way to solve this problem. Some things I learned: - I accidentally bought Melita filter #2 instead of #4. #2 works, but they're barely big enough. Number 4 is much better. This machine actually fits in a 6 cup Chemex brewer. Who knew this would be the cheapest method for an automated Chemex? (Edit: This doesn't seem true anymore. I had to get a replacement model when our original stopped brewing. The model we got is smaller now. Chemex doesn't fit.) - If you're using the pre-brew mode, stop Check it from time to time to make sure it's still activated. One day I noticed he was back in no-pre-infusion mode. I think it was due to a power outage in our house. 50 grams of coffee is the ideal environment. You can brace yourself for this, but it's a very good starting point for your brew. Of course, grinding is definitely the way to go.
