BEWARE of possible HEALTH HAZARDS!

Owned this for a while and only used it occasionally in the office. The brewed coffee tastes good. I almost want to give 5 stars until one day I tried to get hot water. Huge scales at the bottom of the carafe. At first I thought it was water build up but after using a couple of Urnex descaler products everything is still the same. Then I decided to open it to understand what was going on. Judging by the photos presented here, there shouldn't be any rust inside. That tells me the boiler system…

Do not buy this model!

I moved into my apartment and bought this brand because a roommate in my last house had a very similar one that I really liked. It was a large unit (8 cups I think?) and way better than this item. I wish I had spent and paid a little more money. The list of things (big and small) wrong with this little device goes on and on. The jug lid cannot be screwed all the way down, so you have to awkwardly reach for a lever with your thumb to let the coffee run out. If you pour from this pot, it will not

My old coffee maker was so petrified that the water only heated to 165 F and the coffee it made was tasteless, awful. I wanted a new machine that would make great coffee, but since I'm the only coffee drinker in the house, I needed a 4 or 5 cup machine. Unfortunately, most better quality coffee makers are rated for 8 and 12 cups. I suspect smaller cars tend to be in a more price sensitive market. I almost gave up on this great little coffee maker because of all the negative reviews on here. No,

The ultimate brewer when you don't feel like hand brewing.

I've been using this coffee maker for about a month. I'm tired of hand brewing Chemex in the morning. It took too long. I wanted something I could set up, press a button before I get in the shower and head out. Since I like to grind beans right before brewing, I didn't see the need for a fully automatic timed version. I just didn't want to grind grain the night before. So far this coffee maker is great. What annoys me the most is the decanter. As others have pointed out, it's designed to make…

Not perfect, just great.

Some of the bad reviews almost made me give up this brewer. I'm still glad I decided to buy it. I have experience with coffee and brewing methods. I've been drinking specialty coffee for many years, I have all the necessary equipment, I roasted the beans myself and so on. I have pour overs, vacuum brewers and french presses. My preferred brewing method has always been the French Press. But I've always been a little jealous of my son-in-law's techno mold, which makes great coffee. I finally…

I really wanted to hate this coffee maker.

I've tried - and failed miserably - to make a decent cup of coffee at home. From the late 80s. Two coffee machines. French press. watering. I grind the beans myself, beans handpicked by the elves, roasted under the rainbow and brought to the shop by the unicorns. No matter what I try, it always tastes terrible. Is always. And my standards aren't high: My favorite coffee has always come from donut shops and Denny's, as well as the rare specialty store that serves a decent cup of dark, smooth…
