I overheated my drivetrain while plowing large hilly areas with my 2012 Silverado 1500. The OEM radiator was small and didn't have a fan, so when plowing it doesn't get enough wind to cool it effectively. I hooked up this cooler as an add on to a Hayden 397 transfer line fitting and connected the fan and thermostat to the fuse box. The cooler fits comfortably to the left or right of the stock cooler. I went with the OEM style clamps but all the fittings and hoses included appear to be of good quality. My car no longer overheats. I haven't had enough snow to even push a fan yet. (thermostat 180C).
