Very good product but with some issues

Pros The sharpener is great when used properly but the knives don't get as sharp as some say. Sharpness is definitely, while it shouldn't be, a subjective thing. I won't complain, the knives are sharper than the factory and that's more than enough for me. I like the ease of use factor of this method. If you're not a sharpener fan, you'll love this machine. You can't beat the speed and quality of the knives. If you value your time and life, get one of these. Bad: not necessary, but knives should be sharpened with a steel sharpener, etc., which is cumbersome. If you don't, you might feel like the knife is slightly stuck as you cut, but you'll have to be a little picky to spot that. Any normal person with no knife sharpening obsession will be pleased with the results. Converting knives to a new angle is "difficult". Depending on how your knife is made, you may need less or more. According to the instructions you should go through step 1 with the knife 20 times on each side, it takes a while at first, but after that you never have to use step 1 again on a previously converted knife. I don't think my IKEA knives took that much, but I still made 20 pairs of passes. metal dust. I'm very picky about any kind of pollution, and while it's not the mayor's problem, metal dust spreads everywhere, including the air, so I'll wear a mask if I'm you. After sharpening a few knives, I felt a little nauseous. If possible, do it outside. Other thoughts: Talking about the technical characteristics of this product and knife sharpening is absurd. They paid around $125, don't expect miracles... If I were you I would watch some videos on how to use it first. The important rule is to let the machine guide the blade, you are not responsible for that except for pulling. A little extra pressure down, left or right will scratch your knives. Hear sharpening, don't press any further and don't even try to create an angle yourself, there are guide angles in the machine for that. In any case, you can scratch your knives with any sharpening method. I also had these weird noises and vibrations at first, but inside the machine everything seems to settle down and these noises and vibrations go away, so before a quick return just give the machine a chance. Buy tip, unbeatable for the money.
