That's the REASON for 4 flat tires! I ordered two sets of these earbuds (4 individual earbuds total) and they worked great initially, but after using them for a while I noticed a major design flaw: the ends of them. I suspect this should somehow help prevent flat feet caused by abrasion at the end of the liner. One of these liners is on my wife's bike and after maybe only 100 miles she had a flat tire. I carefully removed the tube and noted where the tube/tire/rim met to try to find the cause and found a small speck of hard glue protruding from where the yellow rubber was stuck to the tire's sealant (see Picture). This rubbed against the pipe and caused a puncture. I had a slightly opposite issue on my bike where a piece of yellow rubber fell off the fairing exposing the razor sharp edge of the puncture resistant material underneath. It also rubbed on the hose and caused a sting. In this case I was less vigilant so it took me THREE flat tires over the course of several weeks before I realized that these liners were the CAUSE and not the solution to my chronic flat tire. Unless the design is corrected to fix these issues I will never buy these earbuds again. Instead, I bought Panaracer Pasella PT tires for my commuter bike. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do with my wife's bike. I don't want to risk accidental "real" mishaps on the road, but I also don't want to get GUARANTEED spans by returning these liners.
