I've only had it 1 day. If it doesn't break, it's a winner. I felt the price was a BIG $7 even with free shipping. I felt like it could sell for $3 and still have free shipping. It's just a stopper. sigh. That's why I only bought 1 of these. IF they sold for less plus postage, they could be shipped in the same box and then I could buy several and pay less for each piece like I do with other sellers. I will not keep this part and I will not buy more than I absolutely have to have at this price. I was thinking about buying some of the double rooms but they are very expensive but I needed this one and it worked fine. I will use other methods to avoid spending all this money if I find a way. WHY did I buy this item? I just rebuilt a 34 year old bike and it didn't have a cable lock or cable guide under the bottom bracket like our modern bikes. In fact, the bike had no cable stop for the derailleur at all. When this bike was built a few years ago, the cable ran in a sturdy housing from the shifter to the derailleur, which received a cable with a built-in cable retainer right on the derailleur mounting clip. It looked like an old lawnmower. When I rebuilt the gearbox I changed it from 10 speed to 18 speed and of course I had to replace the old derailleur with the new one. To get it right I had to either solder a cable stop to the frame or buy this part. It was $7 for a simple clip on the part but I had to pay the price or spend a lot of time with soldering tools so I went with this part and it works fine. BYE BYE. That's a nice detail too. Before purchasing, measure the pipe you intend to install it on. A good way to do this is to use the jaws of an adjustable wrench that can be gently clamped onto the pipe. Furnished. Then you can use a ruler and measure the distance between the jaws and you should be very close to the size you need to buy. I bought the 28.6 as my down tube is about 1.5 inches wide measured side to side without measuring around. This part bolts directly to the down tube and fits well. A NOTICE. If you clamp something to a bike and cut a small piece of tubing rubber and put it UNDER the clamp of the item attached to the frame, this will prevent it from sliding on the frame. This comes close, but I put half an inch on a 1/4 piece of rubber and it stays in place. It is foldable on one side and has a clamping bolt on the other side. If you are not careful you can damage this part. DO NOT rejoice or rejoice tightening this to your bike. You CAN remove it if you overtighten or break the little loop. The thing is narrow. Using a rubber trick under the clamp gives you some flexibility with the torque that can keep you from over tightening and breaking something. You will need a small Allen key for installation. I suggest you buy a set from your local Wallyworld. I paid $6 for a set that folds onto a handle. They fit almost every part of my bike. You can do this if you take your time and think things through.
