Review on Bowling Protective Elastic Exercise Accessories by Justin Santiago

Quantity exceeds quality

I use this product to connect my thumb and two fingers when bowling. I have used Motiv Flex Tape but have seen the prices for this product make it worth trying this manufacturer. The ribbon comes in a plain white box and as shown in the picture there are no graphics on the box or ribbon. The first error I see is that the product is described as 1" wide in the description text at the top of the screen and in one of the images showing the size. If you scroll down to the product specs you will see that it shows as 3/4 inch, it is actually 3/4 wide. This can be important for people with large thumbs who tend to cover the entire back of the thumb. As advertised, it is stretchy and will stretch in length. The material appears to be similar to the Motiv Flex band in that it's fairly smooth and of the same thickness. Unlike the motif tape, it is packed in individual strips whose paper backing corresponds exactly to the width of the tear-off tape. This makes it difficult to separate the band from the backing, and until I practiced it often enough I screwed up a few pieces to get used to it. If the tape starts sticking to itself when you peel off the backing, simply cut it off with scissors at that point and start the process again. The motif comes in two parts, each on a large square base for easier peeling. Functionally, the ribbon works as advertised, but with one notable problem. The webbing at the edge of the band is not dense and upon closer inspection you can see that it even looks a bit worn prior to use. This causes the outer edge to start to crumble before I've even finished three games. Depending on the degree of deterioration, I either ignored it or switched to fresh tape while playing. This was a problem for the tape used on the thumb and fingers. My two star rating is mostly based on this weaving issue, but I'll concede that if width isn't an issue for you, the amount of tape you get allows you to easily switch to a new piece, and always even more popular brands of fingertape. . This is clearly a product that offers quantity over quality.
