This isn't a very large chopping board, but it's great for small jobs. The wood is very hard. It is not necessary for the plate to be thicker. It's lightweight and quick to rinse, tumble dry, and line dry if desired. Easy handling. The olive tree is something very special. From time to time I rub it with organic coconut oil (doesn't go rancid) and leave it in the warmth of the sun to soak it up. The forest is so beautiful that I am happy every time I look at it.
