Review on Professional Grade PreSonus HD7 Monitoring Headphones: Exceptional Audio Quality for Enhanced Sound Monitoring by Tasha Price

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good sound for little money

Are these really 4-star headphones? For less than the $30 I paid, they're actually a little bit better. If the cord was detachable they would get an extra star. However, it is solidly built, heavy and durable. I don't expect a short at all and use these as one of my main pairs - the others being the Sennheiser 439 (lightweight, comfortable but boring), the Superlux 668B and the ATH M40x and ATH-IM70 headphones. Sonically closest to the 668B. A bit bright - but without annoying noise. With Cosmos velor pads - which suck on board - for an extra eight bucks here at Revain (or if you want to spend the money, Beyerdynamic replacement pads) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KLPRQMO/ ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3528NABKVABNY - They can't get any better and they sound better than almost all - under $150 - headphones I've tried. These are not bass headphones, these are for studio and critical listening. I use them with Macbook Pro and iPad with Fiio Q1DAC, HP laptop with idsd nano black and my home stereo. They can handle a serious load from a stereo amp or deck without distortion, but their low impedance means they can be easily driven by smaller amplification sources. - even after a few hours of listening. This is one of the best deals I have ever received from Revain.
