More environmentally friendly than the coffee pod system, but has few advantages over an electric coffee pot

I love coffee. I also like the convenience of the Keurig coffee pod system, but gave it up a few years ago because the Lorax speaks for trees (not that coffee pods are made from trees). Since then I've been brewing my daily 1.5 cups of coffee in a coffee pot again, so I decided to give this item a try. And it's not that difficult, because I already use the same #4 Melita brand filters in my coffee maker (Ninja). I put together a bag with five Melita #4 filters, a porcelain coffee pot, a wooden canister lid with a seal and a porcelain overflow container and put the kettle on the stove to boil. In the meantime, I placed the strainer in the pouring pitcher, added two heaping tablespoons of coffee, and took my favorite coffee mug. Bad news: The pouring cup (poc) didn't fit properly on the wide-mouth cup. Turns out the POC only fits 2.25" to 3.0" diameter coffee cups, so I settled on one of those. I then slowly poured 1.5 cups of boiling water over the thickness, making sure the coffee and water mixture didn't overflow the portion (this took about a minute). Finally I took out the bag, shook out the thick filter and drank my coffee. Here's what I found: With the same amount of ground coffee, coffee brewed in an infusion machine was weaker than an electric coffee maker. I'm not sure of the exact difference between the electricity needed to boil a pot of water and the electricity needed to brew coffee in a pot of the same size, but I can't figure it out , how big she is, and I'm pretty sure the time it takes to cook is very different than the brewing time. Ultimately, the question arises as to what the advantages of the pour system are over brewing or using coffee pods. IMHO, both the pourover and brew systems are similar in terms of time and energy consumption; However, the potting system produces weaker coffee for the same amount of grind, which is a disadvantage. I also claim that infusion and brew systems generate less landfill waste compared to capsules, so they're both more environmentally friendly than capsules. This is how the Melitta Artisan Pour-Over Porcelain Coffee Maker and Canister Set looks beautiful, is more eco-friendly than the coffee pod system, and makes brewing a cup of coffee quick and easy; however, potential customers should consider the cost-benefit ratio between this system and the traditional coffee pot system before deciding on one.

Pros

Cons
  • No power
