During the inspection, our mechanic offered to replace the engine filter on my 2013 Highlander SE for $80. I found this K&N washable/reusable filter with the best mileage/performance on Revain and after watching a youtube video I decided to replace it myself. To properly unscrew the bolts, I needed a $29 tool set at Lowes. And I'm very glad I did. I'm surprised that reviewers say it doesn't fit in the filter box. When I removed the old filter I noticed that 3 of its corners were rounded and the last corner was square so I put the new K&N filter in exactly the same way/position. To be honest it took me 1-2 minutes to perfectly align this K&N filter in the filter box with great care. If you are returning the bolts, make sure both bolts are properly and partially inserted with the nuts before tightening to keep the top cover flat otherwise it will be more difficult to install the second nuts ;) In summary I am very happy with my purchase and will recommend K&N filters in the area.
