My son is 2 1/2 and slim (37" tall and 26 lbs) so most 18month pants fit his waist just fine, but 2T/24month pants fit perfectly. - suitable length. These size 2 pants fitted his waist perfectly even without laces so it was smaller than I expected, it was also tight in the legs and his diaper fitted well. He may outgrow them before winter's end; I'll take size 3 or 4 and attach them to the cuffs and use the drawstring so hopefully we'll get more use out of it!
